The Laurel Amateur Radio Club (LARC) is offering a free weekend Technician Class from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 12 and Sunday, January 13, 2008. Optional text books will be available at the class for about $20.00. The course will be held at the Laurel Municipal Building at 8103 Sandy Spring Rd in Laurel, MD. Exams will be administered by the Laurel VE Team.

The Montgomery Amateur Radio Club presents classes in the spring and fall of each year to help amateurs obtain and upgrade their licenses. There is no charge for the classes, however, students will need to purchase a textbook for each class which costs about $20.00 to $25.00.

The Laurel VE Team will administer exams at the end of each class term at no charge. These exams are open to the general public as well as to those taking the class. All exam elements will be available at these test sessions, i.e., written exams for Technician, General, and Extra class licences as well as Morse Code.
